Irwin L. Lifrak, M.D., J.D.

Irwin L. Lifrak, M.D., J.D. is both a full-time practicing physician and a part-time attorney. He has practiced medicine for more than 35 years and is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified in Addiction Medicine, as well as Occupational and Environmental Medicine. His medical practice is located in Wilmington, Delaware. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey and then his residency in Internal Medicine at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey. He has served as the Medical Director of Gaudenzia New Beginnings, a personal care home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as previously providing care at North East Treatment Center in Wilmington, Delaware. He has also been an Adjunct Lecturer at Baruch College and a Clinical Instructor for the Department of Medicine at University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware and has previously served on the hospital’s Peer Review Committee.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Lifrak is a graduate of Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, and is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. In over a 20 years of practicing law, Dr. Lifrak has been involved in litigating complex medical malpractice cases, including cases involving surgical errors and traumatic birth injuries, as well as catastrophic personal injury cases. He has been involved in complex medical issues such as traumatic brain injury after motor vehicle accidents, as well as complex workplace injuries.

Dr. Lifrak works alongside Dr. Aussprung and others at the Law Office of Leon Aussprung MD, LLC to provide medical and legal consultative services. His many years of experience and insight are a huge asset to any medical malpractice or personal injury case.
